It started small with me ignoring my needs. I began skipping meals, not giving my all in my workouts to avoid creating the body I desired because I was being told I was unattractive, holding back my tears when hurtful words were cast at me, saying yes when every fiber of me was screaming no. I told myself it’s fine. I’d deal with it later. But later never came.

The weight piled up. The expectations, the self-doubt, the pressure to be perfect caused me to bury my dreams, silence my voice, and shrink myself into a version that felt acceptable to the world. Until one day… I couldn’t do it anymore.
I felt it coming like a crack in the dam. It was the smallest things like—a careless word, an unmet expectation, and the realization that I was so far from being who I wanted to be—it became my tipping point. And then, it happened.

I shattered.

And as I tried to put myself back together, I realized something heartbreaking: I wasn’t even holding my own pieces. They were pieces of someone else’s identity—ones I’d worn for so long that I didn’t know who I was anymore.



One night, while my husband was away for work, and I truly had time and space to connect with myself, I made the decision to finally give a true effort at journaling around the emotions that were raging through me. I felt out of control and I wanted to feel freedom from the constant fear, disconnect, and overwhelm that had been coursing through my body every day, I was desperate to try anything to gain control of my thoughts and emotions. As I journaled I began to hear my inner voice whispering to me…words flowed from me and poured out onto the paper frantically! These are some of the things my higher self said to me…“Tara, you don’t have to keep allowing others to choose how you feel in your body. You deserve to be happy and if it doesn’t feel good to others, that’s okay. Just be you.” “You’re doing incredible in life. Stop listening to the doubt that is surfacing, it’s only trying to keep you from rising up and becoming the woman you were created to be because it thinks you need to be protected. You don’t need protection because you’re strong enough to handle whatever comes your way. Look at all you’ve already accomplished!” And then there was this one…the one that set me into motion to finally emerge into the world as a Reinvention Expert for women…. “Girl, you weren’t meant to play small. Tears poured down my face as I realized—I was disconnected from my true self. The woman God created me to be had been lost in the noise of trying to be everything for everyone.
